Our Goals

To maximise access to justice in the ACT by

1) providing legal services to disadvantaged members of the community;
2) developing within our community a better understanding of the ACT legal system; and
3) providing high-quality contributions to the processes for reform of the law which affects those we assist.

To assist to promote fairness in our community through community legal education and through proposals to reform the law.

The office at Woden provides free legal advice. Appointments can be made by telephoning the main office on (02) 6243 3471.

Telephone advice is available through the Commission’s information line on 1300 654 314 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. Also, after hours advice on urgent matters is available on 0429 440 084. The Domestic Violence and Personal Protection Order Unit is located
at the Magistrates Court. Telephone (02) 6217 4299 for information and appointments.
